Dear Valued Guests,
We started Heavy Restaurant Group 19 years ago, opening Purple Café & Wine Bar in Woodinville. Against all odds, this cozy little café, tucked away in Washington Wine Country, has grown to a company of ten restaurants, an event space and catering business. We are a family of chefs, cooks, dishwashers, servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, expeditors, food runners, and managers. Our employees are some of the most creative, hardworking, well-humored, resilient and passionate people in the community. They have worked incredibly hard to support themselves, their families, each other and our loyal guests.
The unpredictable nature of the pandemic is having heart-breaking health and economic consequences. To do our part in flattening the curve, we have completely shut down operations at Heavy Restaurant Group. We have had to lay off our 500 employees with very short notice. For the moment, we can no longer support our Heavy Restaurant Group family, and we are reaching out to our community for help. We have started a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $500 for each of our employees. We would not ask if this was not a real need, but our restaurant family needs relief in this uncertain time. Any amount is greatly appreciated, 100% of the money raised will be distributed equally.
