<div>Last summer Heather was diagnosed with a Meningioma brain tumor. These types of tumors are typically benign, but they can become large and are sometimes in a "bad" place in the brain.  Unfortunately, Heather's were both.  Because of where the tumor was located and the size of the tumor, her neurosurgeon wanted to remove it to avoid further growth which would lead to face paralysis and further hearing loss (of which she is already experiencing).

<div>Her craniotomy was done in April and was thought to be a grade 1 tumor, 100% benign. Last week we were informed from the pathology results that the tumor is actually a grade 2 tumor - not considered benign and not considered to be cancer.  Therefore, Heather must undergo radiation therapy for the next six weeks to prevent the chance of it returning, which if happens, often comes back as cancer.  Some of you may know that Heather suffered a massive stroke and aneurysm about 10 years ago, so we are all very nervous about what effects this could have on her brain.

<div>Heather has already been out of work for almost 2 months, and this has already been extremely stressful, as they are a two income household and have depleted their savings from her time off for the surgery.  Although it can be humbling to ask for financial assistance, we are hoping to raise enough funds to get them through the next two+ months to ease the burden of medical expenses, prescriptions, bills etc.  Any assistance you can offer would be so greatly appreciated, and if you are of the praying type we are desperately asking for you to remember Heather in your prayer intentions.
