My name is Kat, and I'm fighting Stage IV Cervical Cancer.
 
When I started this campaign, I was also dealing with metastatic melanoma. I want to lead with some good news: that fight is over. Treatment and surgery for the melanoma were successful, and it's no longer part of my current battle.
 
But the cervical cancer is a different story. It hasn't gone the way we hoped. It has progressed and has now spread to my lungs. I'm now navigating a more aggressive stretch of treatment, including a new immunotherapy regimen, to try to get ahead of it.
 
I'm doing this largely on my own — no partner, no built-in support system — while also running my own business and handling every normal responsibility of daily life.
 
 My insurance covers my core treatment, but it doesn't cover the supplements, IV therapies, protocols, and other supportive care I rely on to help my body withstand treatment and stay as strong as possible. And because this disease makes it harder to work as much as I used to, I'm also covering rent and bills on my own in a place I just moved into before getting news of the diseases progression, with less income than before.
 
This campaign helps me bridge that gap — treatment support, recovery support, and just staying afloat while I fight this.
