Hi, my name is Hazelle.
I go by UnPatriarchMe on TikTok.
I’m a single mother of three in low-income housing, and I’m reaching out because our power has been shut off in the middle of a critical housing transition.
A few months ago, I stepped in to stop a neighbor’s domestic violence situation, and doing so brought up deep, unresolved trauma from escaping my own. Since then, I’ve been working with the housing authority to move us under VAWA protections — but due to funding cuts and bureaucratic delays, the process has stalled.
Now, right as our new unit is ready for inspection, our power was shut off. Without electricity, we automatically fail the inspection — and that means we could lose housing entirely.
I’ve applied for rent and energy assistance and am working with a legal team, but the process takes time we simply don’t have. I’m requesting $576 — the amount needed to get the lights back on immediately and keep my kids safe.
If you’re able to help with anything — whether it’s a few dollars, non-perishable food, or just sharing this — it makes a massive difference. I’ve fought so hard to keep our lives stable. I just need a hand right now to stay on solid ground.
Thank you for seeing us.
With love,
Hazelle

update: now that the goal has been hit and I have enough for groceries anything else will be going to pay off the remainder of the electric and the 1000 dollars worth of other backed up bills from the ordeal with the housing authority. Thank you all so much for your help
