<div>My name is April Baker, I am Harleigh Johnson's aunt. (as many of you already know &lt;3 )

<div>I hope she isn't upset by me sharing her story. (So everyone be nice).
</div>
<div>Anyone who knows me, or knows Harleigh, knows her love of dogs, but specifically, HER dogs.
</div>
<div>She lives and breaths for her Puppers, even working for Peak Dog Training in Richmond (check them out if you haven't already).
</div>
<div>The big guy in the picture, his name is Malakai and he is Harleigh's biggest baby. Malakai is a Cane Corso who will be turning 5 in just a few short weeks.
</div>
<div>To know him is to love him. He is truly a gentle giant, the BEST boy.
</div>
<div>Yesterday Malakai was diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma.
</div>
<div>Lymphoma is a common and aggressive cancer of white blood cells that can affect lymph nodes and other organs like the spleen, liver, and digestive tract.
</div>
<div>Left untreated, Malakai's prognosis is approximately 30 days. One month.
</div>
<div>However, fortunately, even canines have oncologist! 
</div>
<div>We went for a visit today. The vet was very nice and explained that Malakai could be treated with chemotherapy, in much the same way humans are.
</div>
<div>It isn't a cure, however, it would mean a normal, comfortable, pain free lifestyle, buying him far more time with his girl.
</div>
<div>But as you can imagine, it doesn't come cheap.
</div>
<div>I know Harleigh, and her love for Malakai. She would mortgage her home if she thought it could buy him some time.
</div>
<div>Harleigh is truly the most generous, loving, kind hearted soul. She has been a grown up since before her time and asks nothing of no one. She has a giving heart, is humble, appreciative, respectful and kind. I honestly could go on for days about what an amazing young women she is.
</div>
<div>She seems to have been dealt quite a bit of bad luck this year, a drug overdose caused a young man to drive his car thru her house, destroying her kitchen. A deer jumped out and did thousands of dollars in damage to her new car she hadnt had a week, only to get it back long enough to be rear-ended. One of her other dogs had to have a life saving surgery, it's been one burden and obstacle after another thrown upon the most undeserving of people.
</div>
<div>The vet said the estimated cost for Malachai's treatment would be $3-$3500 over the course of the next few months.
</div>
<div>We paid a $400 deposit on that today and he is scheduled for chemo once a week for the next six weeks to start.
</div>
<div>She would NEVER in a million years ask for help, and if she gets none, she will make it happen one way or the other.
</div>
<div>But to see her today, a nervous wreck, crying for this baby nearly broke my heart. I will help her in any way I possibly can, but as with everyone else, money is tight.
</div>
<div>So if you can give to help out, that would be amazing.
</div>
<div>If you can offer a prayer or a well wish for them, that would be more than appreciated as well.
</div>
