Meet Gypsy
Gypsy is my 8-year-old kitty and best friend, I rescued him from a mobile park in high school. He was the most vocal little kitten I have ever met, he loves to give kisses and sleep on your chest. He is the sweetest kitty in the world and has helped me through so much and was always there for me. He is however different from other kitties. He is very sensitive and needs 24/7 attention, he does not have very good motor skills and has a abnormality in his front leg all since he was a kitten. When I got home on the night of the 27th he was straining and screaming and crying in pain, I rushed him to the emergency vet and found out he just had a blockage in his urinary tract. This is most likely caused from stress. Earlier this year we lost our baby and I was in the hospital a lot, and when I’d be gone for long amounts of time I found out gypsy was licking off all of his fur while I was gone. I was told it was due to stress and after me being hospitalized and I was home he was getting better and his hair was growing back. I have tried many stress-free options for him like Feliway plug ins, having lots of climbing room, toys, and cuddles. He is a big cuddler, he needs to cuddle all day. But we went to move because I was so sad I wanted a fresh start and a better and bigger space for all of my babies. I also made sure to have enough space for him on the long trip with a big carrier and also that we had him and his brothers and sister on medication during the drive to our new home so they would not be stressed. And as soon as we got here he got more worse then before and started cleaning himself aggressively and a lot more. I didn’t have a job at the time and just finally was able to get one since we moved, and was hoping to take him to see if there is medication to help with his stress. But just as I started my new jobs this week, I came home to him in pain. They told me he would need prescription food, possibly Prozac, blood work, a urinalysis, and to be hospitalized for a couple days to flush his bladder out, it was something we could not afford so they gave me another choice of euthanizing him or just doing a catheter for the night, but the blockage may possibly come back within 2-3 days if we do this one night catheter. And when it does I would need to have the money in order to hospitalize him. I also had the choice of taking him home, but if not addressed or taken care of his bladder could rupture and he could pass. If I needed extra time for money they could put a needle into his bladder and extract as much pee as they can but there is a possibility it may rupture his bladder. So I chose to do a catheter for the night to flush out what we have, and it will give me some time to raise money so he’s not in pain and then have no chance of his bladder rupturing. But the only issue is if I don’t get all the proper tests and hospitalization done this blockage is most likely to keep coming back. So we scrounged up whatever we could to do the catheter for last night, it was money I did not have and this is only to pacify the problem. I am asking if anyone can please donate to help with Gypsy’s medical costs during this hard time it is so appreciated. I’ve lost such a big part of me already and Gypsy is my everything and without him I don’t know what I would do. I don’t want to see him in pain, I don’t want to see him licking all of his hair off from stress. One of the big reasons we moved was for more space for him and his siblings, everything I do is to make their lives better, and with Gypsy’s issues it’s so heartbreaking that I can’t give him the extra help he needs because I don’t have the money. I want to do anything I can to make my babies happy and healthy. Gypsy has helped me in so many ways, he is my best friend and I love him so much. I can’t take anymore heart break and struggle. I just want Gypsy to have everything he needs to have a wonderful kitty life. I’d really appreciate if everyone can do what they can to either share or donate. Thank you so much.
