LOGLINE:
On a drive home to get her wisdom teeth removed, Rowan must find the right time to tell her mother that she’s withdrawing from college.
SUMMARY:
Growing Pains is a lighthearted student film that explores the unconventional relationship between Rowan and her young mother Lucy.
As Rowan’s incoming wisdom teeth pain her more and more, so does her inability to tell her mom she’s taking a break from school. It’s not that her mother won’t support her, it’s the fact that she must explain her choice to a woman who was changing diapers when she should’ve been in college.
THEMES:
Passage of time, independence, unavoidable change, mother-daughter dynamics.
WHO WE ARE:
Howdy! Our names are Jamie Case, Noah Salata, Aiden North, Mackenzie Levitt, Nick Ferrara, Nick Del Bianco, Peter Cricchio, and Ryan Crosby. We are seniors in the Digital Media Production Department at SUNY New Paltz undertaking our capstone project.
This is a film we are incredibly passionate about, that reflects a story we believe is worth sharing.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS:
Our eight-person crew is planning to shoot this film in mid-April. The funds will be used for equipment rentals, travel fees, actor lodging, and cast and crew meals, which we, as college students, are unable to pay for out of our own pockets.
THANK YOU:
We appreciate all donations, and all donors will be recognized in our film’s credits.
Thank you!
