Support Greg Soucie's Battle Against Prostate Cancer

Greg is a loving father to Marissa and grandfather to 2 year old Maeve. He will soon have another granddaughter arriving in January 2025. We are raising funds to assist him with medical bills and living expenses.
Many of you may already be aware of Greg's cancer story and the journey we have been on to this point. Greg was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate Cancer in April 2022. This was discovered through an MRI and biopsy after a long battle with chronic pain and other miscellaneous health issues. Unfortunately, the symptoms he was experiencing were not obvious to a prostate cancer diagnosis and by time this was discovered, the cancer had significantly spread throughout his body leaving him with no hope of remission.
Greg is being treated at University Hospital under the care of Dr. Jorge Garcia who is one of the foremost experts in prostate cancer. We owe many thanks to him and his team for all they have done, and continue to do, to extend his time on this earth. Greg is currently undergoing an aggressive form of hormone treatment which slows the growth of the cancer. This treatment has been very successful so far in slowing this growth, but as with all cancer treatments does not come without its side effects. There will also reach a time where this form of treatment is no longer effective and we will have to explore other options in hopes of extending his life.
For those of you who know Greg, he has never shied away from work. He dedicated 20 years of his life as a Law Enforcement Officer with Brecksville Police Department, followed by 10 years as a driving instructor (with many side jobs and teaching opportunities in between). Through the grace of God, Greg has been able to continue his work as a driving instructor at 911 Driving School since his diagnosis. Over the last year he has had to significantly cut back his hours and even then some days are harder than others. His passion for his work and his students has kept him going, but unfortunately this time is coming to an end.
Greg plans to retire completely in June 2025. It is time for him to focus on his health and finally take the time to himself to spend with his family. Unfortunately, dealing with cancer is costly for anyone even with decent insurance coverage. To date, Greg has accumulated over $25k in medical debt from his treatments. This does not include any future treatments he will likely have to face down the road once hormone therapy is no longer a viable option. We hope his current treatment continues to stunt the growth of his cancer for many months to come, but we are realistic to the reality that chemo and/or radiation will be inevitable at some point.
My hope is with your help we can raise funds to alleviate this financial burden and give Greg the freedom he deserves to step away from work and make the most of the time he has left spending time with his daughter in North Carolina getting to know granddaughters. Thank you all for your support so far and we hope you can share our story.
