<div>Five years ago, Grant W. Smith was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)—a cruel and devastating disease that has slowly taken away his ability to move, speak, and breathe on his own. Despite this heartbreaking diagnosis, Grant continues to fight every day with the same courage and determination he’s shown throughout his life.

<div>Grant is not only a loving husband, father of four, and grandfather of five—he’s also a lifelong servant to his community. From a young age, Grant was the kind of person who shoveled neighbors’ driveways, carried groceries for the elderly, and always lent a helping hand. He worked hard to put himself through college and law school at Mizzou, becoming a passionate attorney who believed deeply in justice. Even after ALS had taken his ability to walk, he virtually attended court to advocate for his clients.

<div>His service didn’t stop there. Together with his wife Kim, Grant co-founded the Westphalia Soccer Club—a place that became a second home for countless kids in the community. They coached, refereed, drove players to games, made sure every child had food and water, and always cheered the loudest on the sidelines. Today, the club continues to thrive, with Grant’s own grandchildren carrying on his legacy on the field.

<div>But now, Grant and Kim need our support. ALS has not only ravaged his health—it has placed a heavy financial burden on their family. Kim took early retirement to become Grant’s full-time caregiver. The costs of medical equipment, home modifications, communication devices, and daily care continue to grow.

<div>Grant has always been a fighter—for his family, his clients, and his community. Now, he needs us to fight for him.
