Hey Yall,

My Name is Gloria and I am attempting to raise money for medically necessary items. Truth be told I convince myself that life is expensive for everyone and I don’t like doing fundraisers because I feel guilty.

The money from this GFM will cover items includeing a power assist for my manual wheelchair due to my current assist not working for me the way I need it too. I can’t lift the 13 pound each wheels or my wheelchair more than once without becoming symptomatic.

My goal is to payoff my current vehicle and purchase a new to me wheelchair accessible vehicles.

I have arachnoditis and I’m on SSDI. I was put in the medically needy version of insurance for my Medicare and have over a 1500$ a month copay.

Over the past few months my health hasn’t been the best and I had to take a pause on my doctoral program to focus full time on my health. This is hard because student loans were helping me cover the cost of things ( yes I know I pay student loans back).

Due to my medial condition I live with significant pain and weakness. I enjoy leaving my home but often times I’m unable to. My routine involves staying in the house throughout the week and leaving home Friday to dance. Other than that I spend most my days home unless someone helps me because I am unable to use my car back to back with my weakness. One day outside the house means multiple days recovering in my apartment.

My current vehicle would have negative equity and would need to pay what is left of the car when I trade it in.

I am currently looking at a very used wheelchair accessible vehicle that could get me from point A to point B.

Going from independent to dependent hasn’t been easy but I truly do trust God will work things out.

My arachnoiditis causes Severe, constant nerve pain, Burning, electric, or “crawling” sensations, and core instability. My low level spinal fusion leaves me with significant back pain due to working on thing past my limits.

Standing is very difficult therefore I am unable to use my lift on the back of my current vehicle.

i understand so many people fundraise and it can be hard to see someone fundraising when you may need assistance as well.

This is being made purely because I’ve exhausted all other options.
