Support Glenbower Wood repairs after Storm Babet
Donation protected
Glenbower wood has been a central part of the community for generations.
Founded in the early 1990's, Glenbower Wood & Lake Ltd has held part of the woods in trust for the community.
Over the years the committee has raised money to pay for different aspects of the upkeep of the woods.
Recently, we have installed a new rail at the car park, resurfaced some of the trails, and with the help of Cork County Council we have installed 3 new bridges in the woods.
We are now raising money to help repair the damage from Strom Babet. Funds raised will go towards resurfacing a number of trails that were damaged.
Please give generously and help keep the woods maintained as an amenity for all our community.

On Wednesday 1st November there was a very helpful meeting with stakeholders.
The main actions planned are:
- Reinstate the first bridge as you walk into the woods from the car park.
- Temporarily remove the bridge over the dam. This is due to a concern around the level of erosion of the supporting banks
- Remove debris building up beside the White Bridge (Concrete Bridge near the neck of the old lake)
- Clear fallen trees from the river bed preventing future build-ups
