Giovanni's Senior Year

Donation protected

Please help me in making Giovanni’s senior year a successful one! Giovanni is an amazing kid and I am so grateful to be his mother. I am extremely proud of his academic achievements in completing the school year with a 4.1 GPA! He has been an honor student for the past 3 years. Giovanni loves soccer and tennis. He played doubles on the school’s tennis team this past year where he and his teammate were undefeated, earning them a Doubles MVP Award, a first award of its kind. This feat has helped his team to win their division and earn the school their first tennis banner. Because of his GPA, Giovanni has received a special invitation to the National Youth Leadership Forum of Engineering & Technology held at UC Berkeley and the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders to participate in their summer program next year. Giovanni has an entrepreneurial spirit. He’s earned a summer scholarship from Teen Entrepreneur Academy (TEA) to attend the entrepreneurial summer camp in July in Irvine, CA. He is interested in pursuing a degree in both Business and in Psychology.

Giovanni’s educational journey began with him being bullied in the first grade. He was able to defend himself, but being the quiet sensitive child he’s always been, he took the unusual step for a child of that age and asked me to homeschool him. So, we decided to homeschool. It has been a wonderful experience being able to homeschool Giovanni from the second grade through the eighth. However, I’ve always wanted him to have a high school experience and finding a school that would meet all of his needs and desires was not an easy one. But, we eventually chose Arrowhead Christian Academy, primarily because of their academic success. Giovanni quickly settled into his role as a student at ACA. He really enjoys his school and is proud to be a student there.

As a mother, you always want the very best for your children. However, as a single mother those goals sometimes seem out of reach. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices along the way, both in my career and academically in order to be there for him. This has not been an easy road, but it’s one that I would not have changed. Unfortunately in 2013, I was diagnosed with a near-fatal autoimmune disorder that incapacitated me for the first 2 years. With being ill these past four years, meeting Giovanni’s monthly school bill has been a monumentally challenging one. It is with much humility that we’ve decided to do a GoFundMe page to afford him the opportunity to finish out his high school tenure at the school that has served him so well to date. Again, please help me in making Giovanni’s senior year a successful and stress-free one. We are so grateful for your support and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
