<div>My name is Susan Nelson and this is my little grandson, Gilbert. He was born June 30th at 25 weeks and has upgraded from nano to micro preemie. He has quite the fight ahead of him.

<div>He is currently in the NICU and has already had one surgery. The cost of one day in the NICU can be anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 and above, depending upon the care that is needed. Surgeries are on top of that.

<div>Mom and Dad, my son Chad and daughter-in-love Sommer, did not qualify for the Ronald McDonald House because they live in the same county as the hospital. With home being over a 30 minute drive from the hospital, they are not comfortable being so far from Gilbert. So, they are having to pay for a hotel room on top of everything else.

<div>Then there is the fact that neither are currently working due to their sweet baby needing them.
