Hello, my name is Gia Carbonaro and I am an ICU Nurse in Arizona.

I have incorporated grief carts in the ICU's to support the families and friends of those experiencing loss of a loved one in the acute care setting. I noticed a need from our community to feel more support when dealing with unexpected and expected loss and created grief carts years ago during COVID. These grief carts and their contents have touched many lives in the last 5 years since I first incorporated them and my goal is to have more of them in the hospital to help continue to support our community through the emotions that come with loss and grief.

Grief carts house information such as:

Information packet: What to do with loved one's tax information, free support groups to call/speak to someone, etc.

'Forget me not' flower seeds to plant in memory of their loved one ($20/50 packets)

Sympathy card

Poems

Comfort kit for children

Glass vials that house the patient's last heartbeat ($30/60 vials)

Grief Cart ($180/cart)

I am creating this GoFundMe to hopefully raise enough money to purchase at least 1 more grief carts and pay for the supplies that go inside of them. Even $5 goes a long way and is so incredibly appreciated!
