<div>Let’s Help Gia Fight Breast Cancer and Protect Her Future

<div>Our dear friend Gia a 35-year-old daughter, sister, girlfriend, friend, and incredibly compassionate nurse practitioner — has always been the one taking care of everyone else. She’s the person who shows up without hesitation, the one who listens, comforts, and heals. Now, she’s facing a battle no one ever expects, and it’s our turn to show up for her.

<div>Recently, Gia was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer that has already spread to one of her lymph nodes. Her doctors are still determining whether it’s stage 1 or 2, but what’s certain is that she needs to start aggressive chemotherapy immediately.

<div>As if the diagnosis alone wasn’t devastating enough, Gia has also had to come to terms with the possibility that treatment could impact her ability to have children in the future. With unimaginable courage and strength, she’s decided to undergo urgent fertility preservation treatment before starting chemo — a small window of hope that one day, she might still be able to experience motherhood.

<div>This decision had to be made quickly and came with an overwhelming financial burden. The fertility treatment costs between $14,000 and $17,000, and unfortunately, it’s not covered by insurance. To make things even harder, Gia recently transitioned from working at a hospital to an independent clinic, which means she currently doesn’t have active health insurance coverage through her job.

<div>After her fertility procedure, Gia will begin chemotherapy, followed by a bilateral mastectomy and breast reconstruction. This long road ahead means she will be unable to work for several months while she focuses on healing — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
</div>
<div>For someone who has dedicated her life to caring for others, it’s incredibly difficult for Gia to ask for help. But right now, she needs us — her friends, family, patients, and community — to lift her up the way she’s always lifted us.
</div>
<div>And as we stand in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re reminded just how many lives are touched by this disease — but also, how powerful love, early detection, and community support can be. Gia’s fight is a deeply personal one, but it’s also a reminder to all of us to take care of ourselves and one another.
</div>
