<div>Those who know Gerardo know he’s a typical teenager who enjoys video games and hanging out with his friends and family. Gerardo is an 11th grader who currently attends Saunders Trades and Technical High School, majoring in Electrical &amp; Computer Circuitry. He recently got inducted into the National Honor Society (cumulative minimum Grade Point Average of 85+) and passed his Driver's License Permit. He aspires to attend one of the following schools for Engineering (Aeronautics, Electrical, and/or Computer Science): Manhattan College, Yale University, and/or Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

<div>Gerardo was diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation throughout the body. This can lead to several serious complications such as kidney failure, blood clots, and several nervous system (brain) issues.

<div>Gerardo is currently in the hospital due to a clotted artery that caused a heart attack. This has caused damage to his heart, high blood pressure, and the beginning stages of kidney failure, among other medical issues.

<div><strong>We are seeking help to assist them financially with any medical scheduling/transportation, loss of income, dietary restrictions, and educational resources that can help ease them with long-term care.</strong>

<div>Despite everything, Gerardo remains hopeful. He continues to dream of a future in engineering — and we are determined to help him get there.
