Support Galapagos Guides in Urgent Need

Thanks to the support of International Galapagos Tour Operators Association (IGTOA) member companies and 171 individual donors, we provided more than $26,000 worth of food, medicine, and direct cash payments to help 195 Galapagos guides who are struggling to make ends meet because of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

While the rollout of vaccines is a cause for optimism, it will be quite some time before tourism in the Galapagos returns to normal. Until then, many guides will continue to need our support to provide for themselves and their families. The government has only provided very limited support and many guides have no source of income other than guiding. Our goal for this round of fundraising is to raise at least $15,000. IGTOA will match the first $5,000 in donations. 

We have partnered with Galapagos Guides Association to identify where aid is needed most and to distribute it. 100% of your donation will go directly to helping guides.  All licensed Galapagos guides are eligible to apply for and receive funds, not just AGIPA members.

This is a great opportunity to support those badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and to help take care of the guides who, in better times, do such an incredible job taking care of their guests and who are excellent stewards and ambassadors for the islands.
