<div>Hello everyone, my name is Rebeca and I am fundraising for my uncle Gabriel who currently lives in Honduras pictured above. For as long as I can remember my uncle has always been an exceptional human. He is driven, hard-working, and an intellectual. He is also now a father of a beautiful baby girl and baby boy. His passion for books and knowledge has transitioned to his love for them, which is evident in how his eyes light up when he looks at them. He is loved dearly by all of us both friends and family and especially his mother (my incredible grandmother).

<div>Today I am asking for help to keep him with us and most importantly his children. My uncle’s life is on the line. He has been hospitalized due to a tumor on his kidney that has grown exponentially. This has been causing excruciating pain and discomfort. Upon further testing, specialists discovered that the tumor is cancerous and is pushing against other vital organs. Surgery to remove this tumor is high-risk and will leave him with only one kidney. The procedure will have to be done with the help of several specialists due to the complex nature of its location. While his other kidney is less compromised they have also discovered tumors smaller in size which are more manageable but can lead to more complications post op. Along with this, immense blood loss is expected so he will be receiving a blood transfusion. When surgery is completed he will have to remain in ICU to be monitored and given all the necessary treatments and medications. This money will also be essential for aftercare since he will not be able to go back to work.

<div>As many of us know either through our own experience or those of our loved ones, medical procedures come with a significant cost especially when the healthcare system is built on greed. My uncle was working three jobs to make ends meet just days before his hospitalization. Although I don’t have the funds to cover his procedure I’m hoping to contribute significantly with the help of others. The love I have for my family is incomparable. Tras más pruebas, los especialistas descubrieron que el tumor es cancerígeno y está presionando contra otros órganos vitales. La cirugía para extirpar este tumor es de alto riesgo y lo dejará con un solo riñón. El procedimiento deberá realizarse con la ayuda de varios especialistas debido a la naturaleza compleja de su ubicación. Aunque su otro riñón está menos comprometido, también han descubierto tumores más pequeños que son más manejables pero que pueden provocar más complicaciones postoperatorias.
