On Thursday, August 17, we got that call. The one no one wants to get.
At only 37 years young, Michael Hinrichs, Jr. was taken unexpectedly at his home. A young, strong, healthy veteran, full of life and love, no one could have seen this coming. It was extremely sudden, tragic, and has left many family members, friends and other loved ones with questions and holes in their hearts. We can't believe he is gone. It does not seem real.
Anyone who knew Michael knew he was always up for a good time. His smile was contagious and his laughter filled the room. He loved his children and were extremely proud of all of their accomplishments. Michael was the typical “ballpark dad” – always there in team colors, rooting on his children either on or off the field. He and Tierney has just moved to a new house big enough for their growing family. He loved his sales job and being able to provide for his family. Michael was a proud member of the military for many years, serving in both the United States Marine Corps and Louisiana Army National Guard. While I don’t know what type of life insurance Michael had, I do know will take some time – months, maybe – for it to take effect.
I’ve decided to start this GoFundMe account in hopes of helping my sister-in-law, Tierney, get by and help provide for their children during this difficult time. With four children living at home, one of which (Liam, who is three and the spitting image of Michael at that age) has a heart condition, I can only imagine the difficulties and stress that are about to be added to her already overflowing plate. I know through the grace of God they will be able to get by, but it won’t be easy.
I am hoping that anyone that knew the type of man my brother was or anyone who knew him or anyone who has a heavy heart for us can find it in your hearts to give a donation to help Tierney and the children.
No donation is too small, and any help is greatly needed. Even if you can’t donate, please hope and pray for the best. This Go Fund Me page was set up by Michael's Dad and youngest sister, Paige, but any and all funds dontated will go directly to Tierney.
