Dear Friends and Neighbors,

AS WE ARE ALL AWARE, THESE ARE URGENT TIMES!

TOM'S FAMILY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

Thus far the events of 2026 have proven like never before that we must have each other's backs!

Tom was one of the first professors in 2025 to be attacked for using his Freedom Of Speech! If we don't have the right to speak our minds, what rights do we have? It is absolutely critical we take the famous and beloved labor slogan "An Injury to One is an Injury To All" extremely seriously today!

Dr. Tom Alter is traveling to a dozen cities across the United States to speak to Working People, Union Members, College Students, and all Concerned Community Members because he believes our First Amendment Right To Free Speech is worth fighting for. Everyone who has ever studied under or worked with Tom, knows he has committed his life to standing up for working people.

It is our goal to raise that last $12,000 so that his family has a roof over their heads, groceries, insurance and a little peace of mind... while he continues his courageous efforts on behalf of all of us!!!

Every $10, $50, $100, $1000 dollars matters. If you are able to donate wonderful, it is so appreciated, and if you cannot, could you please do the very important thing of sharing this on your social media, with friends, co-workers and fellow educators. Tom and his family ARE fighting to defend your democratic rights, AND he truly appreciates your support.

In Warmest Solidarity!

Wishing you and your family the Happiest of Holidays!

Please Help Tom and his family of 4 this holiday season!

This year, many people are choosing to purchase less to oppose the things that are happening in our society now, including the firing of academics over free speech. If you are choosing not to spend today, Black Friday, perhaps you could consider using those dollars to support Tom’s Family instead. It would be truly secured for Tom before Jan 1st so he can continue his efforts unabated to win his rights and by extension all of our rights.

If you are able to join in on this struggle to defend our democratic rights, support the First Amendment Rights to Free Speech, defend Academic Freedom, Defend Tenure, and to Defend Due Process, please contribute today. All donations are greatly appreciated. If you are able to do the $47 ongoing campaign, please push the monthly button when you make your contribution.

Breaking News! Yesterday, November 20th Kelly Damphousse, President of the Texas State University and The Texas State Board of Regents, unanimously voted to fire Tom Alter, a highly respected, tenured Labor Historian!!

Why? Because Tom dared to his use his supposedly protected Constitutional Rights to Free Speech! We have to stand with Tom because he’s stand up for all of us!

Tom spoke at a conference regarding socialist politics on his own time, from his own home, on a Sunday morning. The decision to dismiss him was based solely on false accusations made by a self declared fascist. He spoke September 7th and was summarily fired three days later suddenly leaving him with no income or benefits. He received no due process. Tom is a tenured professor who has fought for social justice his whole life. Like many other professors across the US he’s being censored for using his First Amendment right to freedom of speech. Tom and his family need our financial support as he fights to be reinstated after this wrongful termination. Please help us help Tom as he fights to pay his family’s basic monthly living expenses, housing, health insurance and groceries. Additionally the battle to win Tom’s professorship back will take time. He has committed to spearheading the Movement For Free Speech, not just for himself, but for all of us!

You will notice you can make a one time contribution or you can become a sustaining supporter. Doing either will make the campaign to defend free speech a much more successful one! Please share this story with your friends and colleagues personally and via your own social media.

In love and solidarity,
