<div>This Sunday May 10th  I’ll be running my first half marathon to raise funds for the Fragile X FRAXA Research foundation— a cause that is deeply personal to me, as my son is affected by Fragile X syndrome.
</div>
<div>Fragile X is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability and autism, and while our journey has brought challenges, it has also shown me the importance of research, advocacy, and community support. The Fragile X Foundation plays a vital role in funding research ( one of which my son is lucky to be participating in and has made great impact in his cognitive abilities) , supporting families, and raising awareness to help improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals like my son.

<div>Running 21.1 km is a physical and mental test, but it’s nothing compared to what families living with Fragile X navigate every day. I’m running to turn this challenge into something meaningful — to give back, raise awareness, and support the work that makes a real difference for families like mine.

<div><em>Our mission is to find a effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Fragile X syndrome, the most common inherited cause of autism. We directly fund research grants and fellowships at top universities around the world. FRAXA was founded in 1994 by three parents of children with fragile X. Fragile X syndrome is the most common inherited cause of autism and intellectual disabilities. It affects 1 in 4000 boys and 1 in 6000 girls worldwide, and one in 260 women and 1 in 800 men are carriers. Treatments for Fragile X are likely to help people affected by related disorders including autism, Alzheimers, and many other brain disorders.</em>
