Alongside his mental health struggles, David was dismissed from the fire department due to neck pain and underwent surgery to remove arthritis from several vertebrae. Unfortunately, the pain and numbness have returned, causing him to lose grip in his hands and drop things. Despite nerve conduction testing, he was turned down for another surgery six months ago. Last week, David was diagnosed with COPD, which has been linked to his panic attacks and breathing difficulties. Each day is a challenge, with a regimen of medications, inhalers, and a CPAP machine to manage his symptoms. David has applied for disability but has not worked in 18 months. The family has used every dollar in their savings for medical expenses, copays, therapy, and raising their two teenage daughters. As school approaches, they are struggling to provide supplies, new shoes, and clothes for their girls, who deserve a sense of normalcy despite their father’s health challenges. Donations to this fundraiser will help cover medical bills, copays, therapy, medication, and back-to-school supplies for the girls. The family is facing mounting bills and often doesn’t have enough gas money to get to doctor’s appointments.
