With a heavy heart and eyes swelling of tears, we announce the passing of our brother, Yusuf Olatunji Quadri-Baki, whose fight againt cancer ended yesterday, 12/21/17. Bro. Yusuf is a well known figure within the Muslim community of Southwest Houston and especially in Ansarudeen SW.
Our brother leaves behind a wife and three kids ages 11 yr, 6 yr, and 4 months. We ask that you pon the lease donate generously to this cause as his family will need all the support they can get at this trying time. This is a challenging time for this young family and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We pray that Allah's mercy be on our departed brother and that he be entered into the highest grade of Paradise - amin.
My name is Roukayat Williams and I live in Houston TX. Yusuf Baki was not only a masjid member to me but was also related by blood. He was a cousin of mine and we shared the same upbringing in Lagos Nigeria. We have raised this fund with sole purpose of financially taking care of his three kids and supporting his wife to pay the burial cost and other bills that may accumulate. His burial cost alone is over $5,000 and we've only been able to meet this cost by borrowing from some individuals. This fund will go a long way towards helping to pay back these soft loans. Also, we plan to utilize part of the fund towards helping his bereaved family pay their house rents and provide food on the table while his wife is in the mourning period.
Once all the money in this campaign is collected, I, in the company of other leaders of our community, will present a check in the amount of the total funds collected to the widow of our late brother. We will work closely with the widow to make sure the rents are paid and that the burial costs are covered while not neglecting the welfare of the young children.
