Support for Windcall Sabbatical

Wow...this is a first for me. I am reaching out to you to ask your support...I have been given a wonderful opportunity to take a three week sabbatical with the Windcall Sabbatical Program. This year, I am celebrating 40 years of activism, working with prisoners, their children and families as well as people returning from prisons and jails. I founded Legal Services for Prisoners with Children in 1978, and worked with LSPC through the end of 2001 when I "passed the torch" to two dedicated and talented activists. I have spent the past 16 years working with many amazing non-profit organizations and a brilliant and passionate community of colleagues and friends, inside and out...
I actually wrote letters of recommendation for dozens of activists applying for Windcall Sabbaticals over the past four decades so that they could participate in this extraordinary program...and last year, I decided that maybe it was MY time to apply for this opportunity...I was incredibly fortunate to receive a Sabbatical, and I will be staying at the beautiful Rancho Gallina in Taos, New Mexico from April 25 through May 16 along with two other women activists.
We have been asked by Windcall to try to raise some funding to support our time in New Mexico. I would like to raise some money so that I can give a donation to Windcall, make it possible for a few other activists to join us for a few nights at Rancho Gallina, and have a chance to take a writing class, perhaps do some yoga and explore the area. We also have a new rescue dog (Ellie) who came from Taiwan and was severely abused as a puppy...it will be hard for Ellie to be away from me for three weeks, and I hope to raise some funding to allow Ellie to spend time at a really special "doggie daycare" that she loves.
I have spent my life raising money for the movement...it is really odd for me to be asking for myself. I have had so much loving support from so many of you for my work and the projects that I have supported. I would deeply appreciate it if you could send a little support so that I can truly make the most of this opportunity.
