Support for Wesley & Linda Thouin

On Friday, January 19, my father, Wesley Thouin, had a stroke because of a brain bleed and has been in the ICU at St Francis Hospital ever since. The good news is that he is currently described as "stable" and he is able to move all of his limbs and has been responsive to pain and requests to squeeze the nurse's hands, though this has been inconsistent thus far. He is currently intubated for a breathing tube, however, and though he has opened his eyes while we were visiting, he is asleep most of the time, and the doctors need him to wake up before they will extubate, which is a very important step in his recovery. We know that he is getting the best care he can right now and appreciate any prayers and good vibes you can send his way.

For the last decade, my dad has been the sole bread-winner for his household and has been completely responsible for taking care of my mother, who is dealing with several physical challenges of her own, which make it impossible for her to work. With my father clearly unable to support my mother at this time, we are asking for help to keep a roof over her head and food on her table. 

We have been very fortunate to be surrounded by a great support system in this difficult time, and we greatly appreciate any contribution that you can make to this cause. Any suggestions for other resources we might consider to get my parents taken care of would also be a big help. As they say, it takes a village.
