Until Freedom, We Rise

Are you outraged at seeing another one of our community members turn into a hashtag? Do you ever think about the fact that it could be your daughter or son? Are you anxious when your partner, family member, loved one leaves the house and wonder if they'll return home or not? These are questions and feelings I've had.

Today (and everyday) , my mentor, Angelo Pinto, is fighting for justice of the senseless acts of violence against George Floyd,  Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and unfortunately many others. While it takes away from his ability to be with us to walk us through life lessons, we understand that he is teaching through his walk on the frontline.

The work that he does along with his committed team does not go unnoticed and it certainly must not go financially undervalued. We all have a role to play in standing up for justice.

We must stand up for those who are on the frontlines of this movement. They work tirelessly for our well-being  and our freedom. Their unwavering commitment should not go without contribution from the community at large.

My request is that we commit to donating $1 or more to support Until Freedom's efforts for travel, food, and essential supplies.

Founded by Tamika D. Mallory, Linda Sarsour, Mysonne Linen and Angelo Pinto, Until Freedom is an intersectional social justice organization rooted in the leadership of diverse people of color to address systemic and racial injustice.

Collectively, they have over 20 years of experience  in criminal justice reform, gun violence prevention, immigrant rights, and cultural engagement.
