Support for unexpected medical tragedy

Donation protected

My name is Rebecca Bruce-Radcliffe, aka Nartani Rose and I am raising money for emergency support as I have been unexpectedly struck with multiple medical tragedies.

Back story

In September 2020, I underwent a surgery to remove cervical precancer. Shortly after the surgery took place, I developed an internal infection, had sudden uncontrollable heavy bleeding as well as extreme pain and was rushed back to hospital by ambulance whilst being put on gas and air. I was given morphine intravenously, put on gas and air again and had to have a procedure done to stop the bleeding. I was transferred to a ward and kept in the hospital for pain relief and monitoring. Beside the cervical precancer, I was told by the doctors that there was another issue that was causing me such severe pelvic pain to leave me unable to walk or even stand up. 3 days later I was discharged and was able to leave the hospital by wheelchair and spent the next couple of months mostly bedridden and house bound.
During this time, I was contacted by the hospital and informed that I required a second surgery as the precancer had in fact spread. In addition, after multiple scans, tests, and internal examinations, I was also scheduled a diagnostic surgery for the surgeons to closely examine my reproductive organs to see what else could be causing this severe pain.

On the 19th of November, I went in for both surgeries but unexpectedly had to have a total of 7 procedures done during the same operation. By a diagnostic laparoscopy, the surgeons discovered that my left ovary was fused to my large bowel, which were both fused to my left pelvic wall and had to be surgically separated. They also found multiple cysts along my fallopian tubes which all had to be removed. In addition, a hysteroscopy was needed in order to examine my womb. The precancer was removed and various different biopsies were done (which will hopefully indicate the precancer hasn't spread further - I’m still awaiting the test results to confirm). The surgeon also fitted a hormonal coil in attempt to stop my menstrual cycles which were further worsening my pain each month. After waking up from this operation, I immediately experienced the worst pain I have ever been in, in my life and had to be IV'd with a painkiller 100 times stronger than morphine; fentanyl. I was admitted to a private room for 5 days where I was taken care of 24 hours a day and administered strong painkillers round the clock.
I am still suffering every day with unbearable pain and have to take Morphine, Codeine, Diclofenac & Paracetamol throughout the day & night. I have been asked to keep a daily pain diary to take to the surgeon in 2 months time to discuss whether or not further surgery may be needed. Unfortunately due to chronic inflammation in my pelvic region,  it is possible that my organs will fuse together again. I have also been told that I may have to have a hysterectomy if the precancer continues to spread. Unfortunately this would leave me unable to have children.

As many of you may know, I am a yoga & dance teacher and this tragedy has left me unable to work or even practice. Over the past few months, I have had to take out multiple loans as well as advance benefits payments to help pay for everyday living costs while I wait for my sick benefits to process. The standard time of this is set to take at least 12 weeks, however due to COVID it is expected to take much longer. I am also on the waiting list for social housing because I can no longer meet my monthly rent payments and am having to move out of my current home at the end of December.

How donations will be used

I plan on using any of the donations I receive towards basic living costs and necessities such as rent, food, medication, fuel to get to and from hospital appointments and any other costs needed to see me through this tough situation until my sick benefits are fully processed. If you have absolutely anything that you can spare to help me, whether it be pocket change or just a prayer, I would be eternally grateful for your love and support. Anything makes a difference and I appreciate that a lot of people are in a tough situation themselves due to COVID.

Another way you can support me

If you would like to support me while getting something back in return, perhaps in time for Christmas, I became an ambassador for a 100% freshly made, cruelty free, natural skincare brand (Tropic) just before falling ill and have been unable to network and market it. If you would like to support me by even just purchasing something small for you or a loved one, please visit my online shop and be sure to select "Nartani Rose' as your skincare ambassador at the checkout. This would provide me with some commission which would be immensely helpful for financial support and you would also be helping to create a healthier, greener, more empowered world as every purchase funds education in some of the worlds poorest countries.

If you would like to follow my journey, you can find me on Instagram (@nartani_rose).
I offer my deepest and sincerest gratitude for reading this long post, and I wish you a happy, healthy and wealthy life xox
