Support for Uncle Walt!

Donation protected
It’s with a heavy heart that we let everyone know that my Aunt Shelly’s husband, my Uncle Walt, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 21st. As many of you know, he was battling cancer and had just come home from the hospital. Uncle Walt started his battle with cancer back in October when he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. He immediately had surgery to remove the lump from his left neck. Then on 11/12, he had his second surgery to remove his lymph nodes, and had to unexpectedly have his upper teeth, gums, and roof of his mouth removed. But as always, Uncle Walt was a fighter, and he made it through this invasive surgery.

Surgery was unfortunately very common for Uncle Walt. In 2017 he had titanium knuckles implanted and lost most of the use out of his hands and in 2019 he had lumbar surgery fusing his lower lumbar spine with rods and pins. In between all of this he had nerve damage in his neck and was operated on for that, and then fast forward to the cancer.  As you can imagine, the medical bills from all of this has been daunting.

In spite of all of this, Uncle Walt was the best. He loved his Bert, Maddie, Boo, and many family and friends. He was a kind and generous man and was always there. He was a master tile setter and designer and was always there to lend a helping hand. One of the things he loved to do was home projects with my Aunt Shellbert & Aunt Debbie. They really turned their house into a home that they all cherished.

As mentioned with all of Uncle Walt’s surgeries and not having life insurance, money has been more that tight. With Uncle Walt’s sudden passing, Aunt Shelly is left to figure out how to pay for his unexpected funeral and to keep her home, which is Uncle Walt’s living legacy.

We know times are tough, but if you can help, any amount big or small is greatly appreciated. The money from this fund will go directly towards the funeral expenses and paying for the house so that Aunt Shelly can stay in the home that she and Uncle Walt built. We would be forever grateful. Thank you!
