Support for traveling to Holy Land

Happy New Year!! 2018 is going to be amazing my husband, Joshua Parris, and I are leaving for Israel in one week! We will fly to Tel Aviv on January 9th and stay until January 21st. The trip is being led by our professor of Hebrew and Old Testament studies. Here is a link from educational opportunities.

Lenoir-Rhyne is concerned about students traveling after the president's comments about Jerusalem Etc. Because of this, they have taken away my $1,000 scholarship for traveling abroad that I was awarded after writing two essays and receiving a recommendation from my advisor. LR Also will not be providing us with free Travelers Insurance. This has cost Josh and I almost $500 to provide our own travel insurance. And they are not giving us credit for the trip. Josh and I will have to take an extra class each in the spring because of this before we graduate.
Unfortunately, I was depending on the scholarship. I am hoping, that I can raise some money to help pay for Israel. Josh and I are so very excited! He has never been out of the country before!
You are probably wondering why I'm holding a jar of pennies. Whoever can guess how many pennies are in the jar, or whoever is closest, will receive a $50 gift card to Ten Thousand Villages and two dozen baked homemade cookies of their choice.
As a future church later, this trip will be a profoundly spiritual. Seminary is very challenging, and I have a GPA of 3.44 - all A's and B's! Except for one C. ( At the Seminary, we like to say C is for clergy. It was a challenging semester.)
