Theresa's Alternative Treatments

Donation protected
Our story begins in early June of 2013... My Queen Theresa L. Land bent over to grab something out of the pantry and felt something in her side pop (as she puts it).  Theresa had been in and out of the ER over the previous 3 years with breathing issues, literally dozens of x-rays, ultrasound test, CT scans and nothing.   After several weeks of struggling with the rib pain and numerous episodes of what she believed to be asthma attacks... we were back in the ER.  This time they admitted Theresa into Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale AZ.

It is now the last week of June 2013.  Seeing some abnormalities on her bones (ribs, sternum & cervical spine).  They informed her that the images indicated that it could be metastatic disease as a result of breast cancer.  They would have to do biopsy tests to be sure.  Next steps were to do a bone biopsy on her cervical spine.  After several weeks in pathology we found out that the diagnosis was stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with two types of bone lesions, sclerotic (grows off of the bone) and erosive (eats away the bone).   In the early years of this fight the cancer was pretty active and spread to her biceps, thighs, thoracic spine & pelvis but still only on the bones.

Being people of STRONG FAITH... we began this fight with prayer.  Prayer for wisdom, strength, understanding and healing.  We are confident that it is this that has carried us for the past six and a half years.  The Grace of Christ has allowed us to manage this disease with mostly hormonal treatments.  A little over two years ago Theresa began chemo pills and experienced really good outcomes in beating this.  Some of the side effects were pretty severe but she knows how to fight!  In fact in February of 2019 we thought the fight was almost over.  We received a PET scan report that gave her a very favorable outlook, with little to no activity where previous lesions had once been.  Oh, our hearts were so overjoyed...!

In September and October of this year Theresa began experiencing unbearable abdominal pain, she was in and out of the hospital a couple of times with different infections, so in early October the Doc (her Oncologist) decided to order another PET scan.  This was done on October 24, 2019.   This report concluded; new activity in several areas, increased activity in areas that had been dormant in February, and new sites like the lymph nodes above and below the diaphragm, uptake in the liver as well as avid bilateral lung opacities that were in-determinant...  This report included the recommendation of a liver biopsy to confirm the findings.   The liver biopsy was done on November 27, 2019.  Numerous delays with pathology resulted in us not receiving a final report on the biopsy until December 10, 2019.  At that point the Oncologist recommended intravenous chemo beginning December 12, 2019.  A weekly protocol of Taxol is now her current medical treatment.

The hardest thing to deal with is the unknowing element of this fight.  We don’t know from one day to the next how things are progressing.  Are we managing, beating or being beaten...?  We believe that the Lord fights all of our battles, especially the ones we have no way of fighting on our own.  However, we also (as I previously mentioned) pray for Wisdom... you see not all miracles (and boy we have seen plenty of those) are instant and not all healing is supernatural. Sometimes we must depend on Wisdom that is heavenly to guide our actions and impact our bodies.

We have never sought any kind of outside support for this fight... many hundreds of thousands of dollars in treatment have been managed through grants and philanthropic programs as well as very expensive medical insurance.  However we have made a choice to take a step into uncharted territory.  We have never been a fan of traditional cancer treatment.  We believe that big pharmaceuticals control and impact effective research for the "C" word...  We would like to try an alternative to chemo at a facility in Tijuana Mexico;

Hoxsey Bio Medical Center.

This treatment will cost us around $2,000.00 per visit plus travel.  A small price to pay considering the cost of just two of Theresa's shots were $6,576.00 each month.

 The program will consist of an initial consultation and review of all of Theresa's medical records (blood work, scans, biopsy's, etc.), a class to manage her comprehensive diet & nutritional program (based on supplements and diet) along with the Hoxsey Tonic protocol.

A little about our family…
Theresa and I were married on August 9, 1986.  We have 4 beautiful children: Tiffany - 32, Stephen - 30, Heather - 29 & Joshua - 28.  We have 9 amazing Grandchildren: Dylan, Israel, Judah, Noah, Selah, Stephanie, McKenzie, Uriah, & Michael...  A host of adopted KIDS from the neighborhood and Church that just never went home.

We have been in Christian Ministry since our early 20's.  Associate Pastors of Last Day Revival Center for 14 years... We founded Immanuel Christian Center in June of 2009, bought our first Church Building in December of 2013 and expanded our west valley community outreach center (a ministry extension of ICC) in 2016.  Our facilities are located at 4511 and 4515 W. Indian School Road in Phoenix, AZ.  In July of 2019 we launched ACTS (Apostolic Christian Television Services) a ROKU channel after seeing exponential growth with our ministry POD Cast.  Our lives have always evolved around ministry and trying to help as many people as we can come to know the Lord Jesus as their personal savior.  We believe that we are HIS hands and HIS feet.  Theresa has a huge heart and absolutely loves serving others.  In 2010 we started our annual Thanksgiving breakfast for the homeless.  Over the last several years we have done countless weekend events we call “hot dogs for the homeless”.

It broke our hearts not to have the Thanksgiving Day Breakfast this year, we just didn't have the leadership and support with Theresa on the sidelines.  Her care over the last several months has increased to a point that I have been forced to work from home almost daily.  Other than Preaching on Sunday Mornings we are together.

If you choose to help us with our initial fundraiser, you will be giving Theresa a shot at a less invasive treatment from a holistic approach and a center with more than 90 years of amazing success.  Will you promise to do us a small favor… If you do choose to give, would you also do us a big favor…?  Pray for us, pray that the Lord will give us Wisdom that is truly from above and a heart that is pleasing in His Sight.

Grace and Peace to each of you who have taken time to read Theresa’s story and are participating in her fight.
