Support for the Wise Family

If there is anything I've learned about the cycling community, cyclists are family. The cycling community has demonstrated to me on many occasions, their support and care of one another. As many of you may have seen on social media, the Wise family is experiencing a very challenging and difficult time. Many of you know Amy through cycling related events, but I wanted to sponsor this page and share the rest of their story in hopes that we can help this family as they are facing a serious and unexpected financial crisis.

I have had the pleasure of spending time with Amy and her family over the last few weeks. They are a caring and loving family. Their daughter Micayla is the absolute joy of their lives.  Amy's husband was involved in a serious car accident over 10 years ago which left him severely disabled. Since that time, Amy has been the caregiver and provider for their family. Micayla works part-time at a fast food restaurant to pay for her band fees and other incidentals.

Amy has been working diligently to build her own business and additional work to find supplemental income to support her family. After renting from the same landlord for close to 10 years, they experienced a significant property loss when a pipe burst in their kitchen. Instead of incurring the cost of repairs, the landlord has decided to sell the property and has given them 30 days (ending March 1st) to vacate the premises.

I have gone with Amy to look for apartments and rentals. As they are trying to live within their means as well as finding an apartment/rental that is assessable to Micah, it is a challenge, particularly when funds are low.

Micah and Amy have limited family support as they have no family in the area and Micah's parents are deceased.  Amy has also looked in to other resources (government, non-profit, etc.), but those take time to be reviewed and approved. With the deadline of March 1st looming, they would not be able to get the aid they need in time.

Our fund raising goal is $3,500 for the Wise family to cover rent deposits, first month rent, and moving expenses. Please consider supporting this sweet family.
