Support for the Panergos

This is our 'kuya' David,  he is a father of three, a best friend, a husband and our most beloved colleague.

This page has been set up to support David and his family through a very stressful and uncertain time.

David has been an emergency nurse for almost thirty years, he has made his career out of caring for others. He is an exceptional leader, he is kind, he is clinically brilliant and has an incredible skill of making all those around him feel safe and calm despite any situation. 

Now it is our turn to make David and his family feel the same way.

In December of this year,  David began suffering headaches and dizzy spells. A scan revealed a tumour on his brain, and he now awaits specialised surgery to alleviate his symptoms, and save his life.
Davids' mass would be classified as a Haemangioblastoma, a rare and non-cancerous tumour representing only 1-2% of all adult brain tumours. Because of its rareity, surgical resection is currently the only standard of care with good prognosis. However recovery can be a long and unpredictable process.

While David has shown great bravery and resilience since his diagnosis, we cannot ignore the burdon that this illness will have on his family. With that in mind, it is our hope that we can alleviate some of this worry and give David and his family some security while he is receiving treatment and throughout his recovery.

2020 has been a most difficult year for everyone , and with that in mind, we are so very grateful for all and any measure of contribution at this time.

This is not just friendship, this is family.

**UPDATE**

We are very pleased to report that David has had a successful surgery and is now home and begining his recovery. Thanks to all your well wishes, shares and generosity, we have raised more than we had ever hoped and are so grateful for everyones support in our campaign for our dear friend and colleague.
All funds raised will go directly to David and his family, while he is taking this time to recover.
