Support for the Huey Family

Please help us support our friend, co-worker, and store manager of Silverado Jewelry Gallery: Monica. She is a warm, kind, and giving friend, mother, sister, daughter, and wife. Monica is always there for all of the people in her life, and right now she needs a little help herself.

Her beautiful daughter Rose was born in January 2018 and is facing a number of health challenges. After having issues with feeding, Rose had an 8 day hospital stay at 5 weeks old. After an MRI, it was determined that she has a unique brain disorder: Partial Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum (PACC). Subtle anomalies to her Corpus Callosum (the nerve highway that connects the two sides of the brain) are causing Rose to have low muscle tone; she is unable to eat orally and has been fed via feeding tube since February. Rose is a little champion and recently had a surgery to place a more permanent feeding tube at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. She’s finally gaining weight well and starting to meet developmental milestones.

Time will tell what developmental challenges Rose will face, and she will require many ongoing therapies. Monica is on an unplanned hiatus from Silverado Jewelry Gallery to ensure a bright future for Rose. Any help for this family will be greatly appreciated as they face an uncertain financial future with this unexpected twist. Thank you!!

*UPDATE* from Monica in 2019:
Rose is doing great! She is growing well now that she is on a 20 hour per day slow continuous G-Tube feed. She still has chronic vomiting, but we are better at knowing how to keep her hydrated and out of the hospital. Most of her days are spent doing therapies- physical, occupational, and feeding therapy at home daily and meeting with therapists three days a week. She’s progressing slowly and steadily! She’s 15 months old and just starting to sit independently and trying to army crawl a little bit. She loves toys and kids and is very engaged and interactive. She is very easy going and rarely cries. She can’t physically laugh yet, but smiles and wiggles all day long. She has started dancing to music and is a total crack up. She loves being outdoors and we try to hit the trails every day now that the weather is nice. It’s hard to believe more than a year has gone by!!!
