Support for the family of Hafiz Waseem
Donation protected

PURPOSE:
We wish to raise money for the family of Hafiz Waseem Saab, who was forced to leave this world due to severe mental health issues.
This incident which took place in UP (Uttar Pradesh), India has since been widespread on social media due to it leaving a mark and major impact on the Muslim community, not just locally but worldwide also, having witnessing a Hafidh of the Glorious Quran tragically lose the will to live due to severe financial pressure of providing financial support to his young family of seven (1 wife and 6 children) and fulfilling his debts obligation . This became extra burdensome on him as he was forced to leave his position as an Imam at a local mosque which was also his only source of income.
As you can observe from the pictures, he lived a very simple lifestyle as he did not have an adequate property to live in (just 1 room as seen in one of the pics), neither did he own many belongings and he did not have any other means to support himself or his family.
WHO WAS HAFIZ WASEEM?
Hafiz Waseem was 32 years old, an individual who came from a small village in UP (Uttar Pradesh), India. He was the sole breadwinner for his family. He was an Imam at a mosque in Gangeru village, UP, in India. During the lockdown, he was unfortunately dismissed from his Imamat duties, as the mosque management were unable to pay his wages.
He is survived by his wife and 6 young children, 1 daughter aged 13 and 5 small boys aged 10, 8, 5, 2 & 1 respectively. All of them were completely dependent on Hafiz Waseem for their wellbeing, comfort and needs of everyday life, which now look very uncertain. During his final days, Hafiz Waseem’s family nor his friends were even aware of his situation.
Following his death, his family are in despair and have gone tumbling down, as they look into a very bleak future.
Why are we fundraising?
This fundraising page has been set up to help Hafiz Waseem’s family cope with this unbearable & unprecedented loss of the head of the family.
Whilst all of us are in our own difficult times now with the covid-19 pandemic, it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate (according to what is in your capacity), to help shape his wife & his kids’ future. No amount is big or small; what counts is what comes from the kindness of your hearts, to help lessen the burden brought by this tragic tragedy.
Qari Muhammed Khalid Saheb (Imam of Jamia Masjid, Muzaffarnagar, UP, India) and his team were the first to investigate the incident (Video of Qari Muhammed Khalid saab widespread on social media). They state that the community is devastated because of this death. He feels that the family need the duas, prayers and the practical donations to shape their lives. The children do not have grandparents, and their extended family members have limited funds. The situation in India is unprecedented as there is not much state support in the lockdown that has been in place for many months.
The economic situation in India is dire and many people have lost their livelihood and income. These donations will in’sha’Allah help towards building a house. At present they have only one room for accommodation which doesn’t even have a door. We hope to raise enough funds to contribute to their everyday expenses and towards the education for the children.
There will be further updates posted on this page about what happens next, so you shall all be aware that your contribution is being put into good use.
Your donations will be passed on to the family, by hand, with the help of the local Scholars/Ulama’, namely Molana Imran Wangnoo (Delhi), who is a graduate of Darul Uloom Bury (UK) and by Qari Muhammed Khalid Saheb who is the Imam of Jamia Masjid Muzzaffarnagar.
NOTE: I will keep the target at £1000 for now as there may be others who may have collectected for the family. If we recieve any information regarding other funds that may have been raised for the family, then we will Insha Allah use the rest of the funds (Extra funds after helping the family) for other Ulama who are going through similar mental health issues and hardship during this pandemic.
A big Jazakallah khayran to everyone in advance.
