IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING SUPPORT FOR THE BREMER FAMILY
Richmond and beyond-
Your generosity is astounding. The Bremers’ meals have been more than covered. And, with your help, the family has established the Lucia Whalen Bremer Memorial Scholarship Fund, facilitated through the Henrico Education Foundation. The yearly scholarship will honor all of Lucia’s essential qualities—a bright mind, a kind soul, a dedicated athlete, a disciplined student and a young farmer.

For those who gave here, rest assured that only the money needed to cover meals will be used for that purpose. As promised, the bulk of the funds will now be rolled over to the scholarship fund. This site will remain “live” for the next week or so simply to ensure that anyone interested is able to learn about the scholarship and how to donate directly to the fund. But we will be turning off donations to this site over the course of the next 24 hours.
Thank you again for your outpouring of love to this cherished family. A stated so eloquently by Lucia’s parents, together we will “move forward, living in light the way Lucia lived and loving the way Lucia loved.”

This is the official GoFundMe site dedicated to feeding the Bremer family in the coming weeks. In light of tremendous outpouring of support through meal train and similar efforts, and sensitive to Covid-related best practices, going forward we will be working with a chef/catering company to provide high quality, nutritious and responsibly prepared daily meals for the family. All funds donated to this effort will go directly to covering the cost of the meals, and a list of those who donate (or already have) will be provided to the family.
In addition, as noted on social media, the family is working on a memorial fund and potential scholarship that will be formalized and the details shared soon. In light of the tremendous support being shown here, we are confident there will be additional monies left from this meals effort. We will ensure that all of those funds are applied to the memorial fund and scholarship, and will post a message here when that process begins.
