Most of you reading this have loved and cared for the Bowles family for many years. You have walked through trials of many kinds, including financial, health, mental health and grief. You have watched them over and over again pour out their hurts to Jesus, and then walk steadfastly with him through more than most of us could bear Walking cancer with Sharon is not a new trial for any of us. Sharon is a survivor of breast cancer. Her husband Glenn has also suffered with unceasing kidney stones and pain for a majority of their marriage. Glenn has been unable to work for many years due to the severe pain of living with a chronic disease. Sharon and Glenn live a life that has forced them to survive off the unrelenting love of Jesus. Their life is simply not explainable without the holy spirit. Unfortunately as you may know, Sharon has been given a new diagnosis. Not only has cancer returned to her body but it has spread from her breast, to her lymph nodes and lungs. Sharon is undergoing more then 12 sessions of aggressive chemotherapy as well as further preventative procedures after treatment. When Sharon was declared cancer free just last year, her and Glenn decided they wanted to begin setting aside money for a trip to England; they haven't travelled for holiday since their honeymoon more than 40 years ago. With her new diagnosis, they must set aside their trip and prepare for “real life” expenses: rent, groceries, and bills. 

Helping monetarily would be an above and beyond blessing, but if you are unable at this time there are alternate ways you can help: *a meal *a gift card *adding them to your local prayer chain *sending a note or a letter of encouragement *calling Sharon or Glenn to chat * Helping in any way you can with household chores and cleaning Right now they need their village, their community, their people. 

It is because of these circumstances that we want to raise funds to both help Glenn and Sharon make ends meet during the hard financial time and hopefully have enough left over for them to take their dream trip. Please help us ease the financial strain felt by this hard time and help us make a dream come true.

 

Years ago I journeyed with Sharon through a Beth Moore bible study. There was something mentioned in that study that I will never forget. God will either bring you to the fire, around the fire, or through the fire. As you prayerfully consider what part in the village you will play as Sharon and Glen are led through yet another fire, I leave you with this quote that always reminds me of their steadfast love for God, "No flower wears so lovely a blue As those which grow at the foot of a glacier.
