Support for Tesla June and family

Donation protected
What you are giving towards:
-Fuel for vehicles: Mom and sister stay at the hospital full time and Dad drives back and forth (over two hours one way!)
-Therapeutic toys/equipment recommended by specialist, but not covered by insurance.
-Easy meals for the family. Hospital food and takeout is expensive!
-A larger vehicle to accommodate Tesla’s medical equipment. (Doctor is strongly encouraging this.)
-Income deficit while mom isn’t working.
-Small items to keep Tesla and her big sister smiling in the hospital. Example: toys, stuffed animals, books, music, art supplies.

My daughter Anna is an amazing mother of two beautiful daughters.  This past year has been extremely difficult due to the severe medical issues of her sweet baby daughter Tesla June.  She and Tesla’s father William are terrific parents but have been spending many days apart while Anna is with Tesla in the hospital.  They are struggling to meet all commitments of raising two girls so I’d like to ask for help in reducing their financial burden.

Tesla June has spent more time in the hospital than at home this last year. Around four months old Tesla was transferred to Oakland Children’s ICU for failure to thrive. Over the course of about a month Tesla was diagnosed with hyperinsulinemia and Complex Mosaic Turner Syndrome. Following these diagnosis came multiple hospitalizations and the struggle to gain weight. A swallow study was performed where the results showed silent aspirations. The safest thing for Tesla was to receive a G-tube and no longer feed by mouth. After the surgery for the G-tube Tesla was experiencing severe reflux, vomiting, and respiratory distress. After lots of continued hospitalizations and a sleep study Tesla was then diagnosed with severe obstructional sleep apnea. This was attempted to be managed with oxygen at home, but because of the continued reflux and aspirating Tesla had multiple episodes of aspiration pneumonia and respiratory failure. Tesla has now been hospitalized for the last month and received a tracheostomy on June 7th 2018. Tesla will also be undergoing another procedure to have her G-tube turned into a GJ-tube, this will feed her past her stomach and hopefully resolve the reflux and aspiration issue. The in hospital recovery process can take anywhere from one to six months. Our hope is that this tracheostomy will be a more secure and stable airway and Tesla will be able to gain strength. She is physically developmental delayed because of continued hospitalizations and struggling to do what most take for granted like eat, sleep, breath, and maintain stable blood sugars.
