Update 4.9.18
First of all I want to thank everyone who has donated to the family thus far; your generosity is amazing. I’m writing to update Kris’s status as of today. A set back last week landed Kris at South Shore Hospital. She was in the ICU and moved to the oncology floor at the end of last week.
Doctors are now monitoring her breathing and treating her for pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism. Cancer patients are more at risk for both of these conditions.
Doctors hope to have her home by the middle of this week back with her family where she wants to be.
People have messaged me asking how they continue to help and the only beneficial help I can think of is monetary at this moment. I thought funds could go to medical bills; house cleaning and the kids.
Please continue to pray for the family and as always thank you for all you have done.

Kris was admitted to Brigham and Woman’s in Boston a week ago and will remain there for another week at least. She’s had lots of pain and is being treated by the Palliative Team there. Please continue to share this campaign and pray for the family.

Wow! Over $10,000 has been raised since this campaign started. Amazing! Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far. For all who would like to follow Kris and Bob’s story, please join our FB Group Support for Team Coose; we try and update as much as possible.
As of today Bob is 1/2 way through his Chemo/Radiation Treatment’s and is doing well. The doctors have requested he don’t go out in public right now as we all know flu season is upon us and his immune system is low. He has a very positive attitude and I believe he is going come out of this strong and healthy.
Kris has been receiving trial treatments at Dana in Boston. She is scheduled for more scans and a biopsy early in February. This will determine how the treatments are working. She is also has a very positive attitude and is fighting with grace.
Of course some days are easier than others. I’d like to say she has more good days than bad. She is a fighter and I’m optimistic that the trial treatments will put this cancer at bay so she can focus on staying healthy and spending time with her family.

The Coose Family has endured so much heartache the past 6 months. Kristine was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2017. She has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment and finished treatment in October 2017. In December she had a biopsy on her liver and sadly her breast cancer has metastasized. She is going to be seeking trial treatments in Boston in the coming weeks. She has a very long road ahead of her but I’m hopeful that the doctors in Boston are going to be able to successfully treat her so she can continue to be here for her family for a long long time.
On top of all of this Bob fell ill soon after Kris’s treatment had ended and was diagnosed with cancer. He went in for a standard biopsy last week and unexpectedly had a set back that warranted a tracheotomy and a weeks stay in the hospital. After 2 surgeries he was released from the hospital and now he will be undergoing a combination chemo therapy and radiation treatment. His treatment will be 7 weeks and although doctors anticipate the cancer to respond well to the treatments; he is unable to work during this time.
Anyone who knows Kristine and Bob knows that they would do anything for their friends and family. They have 2 amazing children Michael and Jillian and they would do anything to protect them. Family and friends have been amazing to them these past few months and they have so much appreciation for everyone who has lent a helping hand whether it’s dropping off a meal, giving one of the kids a ride to activities or school; even just being there to listen.
Lots of of people have reached out to offer support and one of the biggest questions we get is “how can I help?” Kristine and I have had many conversations about what help they need to get through this trying time and after brainstorming ideas I feel the most beneficial help they can receive is monetary being that the insurance is not covering all the costly treatments they have had and will continue to receive.
I’ve set up the campgain to go directly to Kristine and Bob to help with the financial burden that they will endure during and after the storm is over. These funds will help with medical bills, expenses, and anything else the family needs. This will be one less thing they will have to worry about so they can concentrate on treatments and getting better.
