<div>My name is John Swift.  Recently my mother received a Kidney Transplant.  Her, and several others of our family members have been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease.  She has lost her older brother and her mother to this disease, and was on home dialysis prior to this transplant.  One of her other older brothers Dennis, courageously and lovingly offered to donate one of his kidneys to her.  The doctors told them that the tissue match could not have been better!!!!  I cannot thank or appreciate this man any more nor could I ever express what this gesture meant to myself and my family.  Unfortunately, 2 weeks after the kidney transplant, mom was not feeling well and had to back to the hospital.  After an ultrasound of the new kidney, they had discovered that there had been a complete loss of blood flow to the new kidney.  She underwent an emergency surgery to try and revive and save the kidney.  Unfortunately the kidney had been without blood flow for too long and they were forced to remove it.  Mom continues to try and be strong and positive, but understandably discouraged and left wondering why.  God always has a plan and we remain positive that something, somehow, will come along and work out.  At this time, since it will be hard for mom to go back to work, we are looking for support for medical expenses and food for the next several weeks while she is recovering.  I also know that when my mother sees this funding campaign, she will be hesitant to accept help.  But if any of you know my mom, she has always been the one to hand you the shirt off her back instead of putting herself first.  It's definitely time for mom to get something back from all the years that she has spent paying it forward to others.
