My only child, Conner Blaisdell-Greene of Virginia, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, diagnosed Thanksgiving night 2023. 

He was 100% disabled for service-connected Stage4 Angiosarcoma cancer. 

Conner was a Sr.Airman in the Airforce, and he was very proud to serve, even though his cancer came from the contaminated water on base. 

His illness changed everything for our family. We spent months fighting for his health, praying for a miracle, and doing everything we could to support him through the worst of days. 

Because of Conner's cancer and his military status, our family was forced to support two households and a business in two different states. This has left us bankrupt, all because of the errors that were made during his outprocessing from active duty, to 100% disability service related. 

Now we're in serious danger of losing everything because of a military discrepancy—an oversight by Administrative Military Transition Command. This should have never happened. It's even more insulting because his cancer was service related. 

His father, Mark, was living in Tennessee, working non-stop, running himself into the ground, trying so hard to build a future for us by getting our business up and running. At the same time, he was traveling to and from Virginia whenever possible. 

Meanwhile, I was left to handle everything, alone. Being Conner's full-time caregiver was hard on both of us. The only time I was away from him is when he was in the hospital for awhile, then I would try to spend the night at least every other night. I unfortunately couldn't stay all of the time because I had no one to watch my mother. Since Conner got sick I think it brought back a lot of memories for my mother that she still doesn't know how to handle. She was diagnosed aggressive dementia and progressive Alzheimrs on top of everything else that's going on. I'm doing my very best with her and, I've been with him every day for 2 and a half years. 

Even with his diagnosis he still was the same guy he had always been. 

I can't even imagine how I would handle myself if I found out I have terminal cancer. What 22 year old guy (what 22 year old kid) wants to rely on their mother for everything? Because of his active duty status we had to stay in Virginia. The emotional toll alone is enough to destroy families. Then take into fact that this situation split our family in half, and the financial toll is absolutely overwhelming. We did everything possible to keep our family together and provide Conner with the care he needed, and deserved, but the costs have left us with significant debt. 

Conner played such a huge role in how our life was supposed to be in McMinnville, Tennessee. From picking out the property, picking out our log home, to picking out how he wanted his room to be like. This was supposed to be our legacy that we were leaving to Conner and the family he never had a chance to have. 

Conner fought so hard, and we were blessed to have him in our lives for another two and a half years after being given just two to four months. That just shows what a true fighter he was. He fought until his body simply couldn't anymore. 

Fortunately, Conner had the best group of friends that stuck by him the entire time. It didn't matter if it was just gaming on the computer or his friends flying and driving in on holidays just to spend time with him. As parents, we couldn't have asked for a better group of friends. Please honor a life that was cut too short. He almost made it to his 23rd birthday, July 24th. 22 years old is too young to die. 
 
We are raising funds to help cover Conner's funeral expenses and to support our family as we work through the debt left behind.
