Sheryl Baker is a devoted mother who has been by her son Ben’s side every moment since he was admitted to the ICU at MCG Hospital on Friday the 15th. Ben is currently experiencing renal failure, and Sheryl has put everything on hold to support him, staying with him day and night. She has even had to sleep on the floor of the hospital just to remain close to Ben. Because of this, she hasn’t been able to work, and her bills—especially rent and utilities—are mounting up quickly.

 Sheryl is known for her kindness and loyalty. She never gives up on people and always puts her family first. Ben, even while in the hospital and barely conscious, was trying to help others—he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Their friends and community have already stepped up, with some donating paid time off to help Sheryl, but the financial strain continues as Ben’s recovery could take weeks.
