Support for Seymour and family

Donation protected
On August 28th, Karen, Emil and big brother Leon welcomed baby Seymour into the world. Seymour was born with a brain stem abnormality that has led to symptoms affecting motor control: he currently lacks the reflexes to suck, swallow, gag, and breathe without ventilator assistance. He has been in the NICU at Sick Kids for the past month as a team of world-class doctors establish a course of care plan for the road ahead, in hopes that his family may soon bring him home. Because Seymour's exceptionally rare condition has not yet been diagnosed, the future remains very uncertain.

Karen is living in a Ronald McDonald House near the hospital while Emil and Leon are living in Hamilton in their newly purchased home. Leon began JK this September. This Go Fund Me campaign has been set up by family members to raise funds to support Karen, Emil, Leon, and Seymour with the unprecedented costs that have arisen, and that will continue to arise in the coming weeks and months: travel between cities, child care, a mortgage, medical equipment, and an inability to work for an unforeseen amount of time.  All of the proceeds from this campaign will be transferred to Karen and Emil to support them financially in this time of unimaginable distress. We thank you for your donations and support.
