Remembering Scott Smith

Scott Smith passed away at 7:15 am on January 8th, 2018 while sleeping peacefully under hospice care.
Any donations you are able to contribute will continue to be used for medical bills, costs of living for his wife, Debbie, as well as planning memorial for Scott.
Below is a description of what transpired:
On December 18th, 2017, Scott suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in which his heart stopped beating for more than 9 minutes. Paramedics administered CPR for the duration of that 9 minutes and were able to get Scott’s heart beating again.
Since the episode, Scott had been in an unresponsive state in the Intensive Care Unit of Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas. Though Scott’s heart stopped, his doctors determined that he did not suffer a heart attack. Rather, it was what they call a “sudden cardiac arrest.”
Scott received wonderful care from the physicians, nurses, and staff at Arlington Memorial. However, Scott never regained awareness or responsiveness.
Unfortunately, Scott’s condition has taken a tremendous toll on his family and friends, both emotionally and financially. Scott does have health insurance, but costs continue to mount and we are approaching a new year, which means a new deductible and new out of pocket expenses. In addition, neither Scott nor Debbie are working right now. Debbie has been, and will continue to be, by Scott’s side every day.
We are encouraged by thoughts and prayers of family and friends, and hope that you will continue to keep Scott and our family in your prayers.
