To our family and friends,
As some of you have now come to know, we discovered last week that Saul has a large 10cm tumor growing in his pelvis. The news has come as a massive shock to us. Saul is only 36 years old with no family history of cancer and is otherwise fit and healthy.
We received some encouraging news a couple of days ago with our oncologist confirming Saul is cancer free elsewhere in his body and the tumor is slow growing. A massive relief! In the coming weeks Saul will undergo major surgery to remove the tumor. We are hoping and praying for the surgery to go well so as to avoid any radiation therapy.
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from our family, friends and colleagues this past week. The question so many of you have asked is, what can we do to help? We have deeply appreciated these sincere offers and understand that it is tricky for most given we now live in Brisbane.
With Saul unable to work now and for an unknown period of time ahead of us, one very pragmatic way to help us out would be to give a small donation to our GoFundMe page.
Saul’s diagnosis comes just two weeks after buying a new home in Brisbane. We threw all of our savings into a deposit (as you do!) and never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined this this to happen to us.
Your support will help in the weeks and months ahead to alleviate the mortgage stress we are now facing, along with helping to pay for Saul’s medical expenses and our increased childcare costs for the kids.
