<div>Patrick John Rodemeyer, 42, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on August 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and creativity that touched everyone who had the joy of

<div>Born on September 7, 1982, Patrick was the beloved husband of Sarah Rodemeyer (née Bray) and the devoted father of Caelyn, Oliver, and Annabelle, who were Patrick’s greatest joy and at the heart of all he did. Patrick was the cherished son of Mark and Marianne Rodemeyer (née Callahan), and the dedicated and loving brother of Robert Rodemeyer (Angeline Groves), Christine Seaver (née Rodemeyer) (Jason Seaver), and Matthew Rodemeyer. He was a loving son-in-law to Tom and Jan Bray (née Mittlestadt), and a caring brother-in-law to Catherine Sass (née Bray) (Brian Sass), Andrea Macartney (née Bray) (Ryan Macartney), and Susan White (née Bray) (Daniel White). A devoted uncle to Marion, June, Johnathan Jason (J.J.), Henry, Thomas, Margaret, Katie, Emily, Andrew, Isabel, and Mara, Patrick brought joy and silliness to every family gathering. Never happier than when gathered around a board game table with his family sharing stories, laughter, and a meal (usually of his own delicious creation), his love for his family was limitless.

<div>A talented and passionate chef, Patrick brought his skill and artistry to some of the top kitchens in New York and Detroit, most recently at Madam at Daxton Hotel in Birmingham, Michigan. A leader in his field, Patrick was a mentor, beloved coworker, and supervisor to countless young chefs. His culinary journey began at Schoolcraft College’s Culinary Arts program and was deepened by his education at the Michigan State University School of Hospitality Business Management. A graduate of St. Genevieve Elementary School and Stevenson High School in Livonia, where he swam on the varsity team, Patrick carried the discipline and drive of an

<div>athlete into every part of his life. He was in the Boy Scouts of America for many years,

<div>eventually earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

<div>Patrick found peace in sweet moments with Sarah and his children, in his garden, and in his daily Buddhist practices. He was a gifted musician, lover of music, concert enthusiast (especially the Movement Electronic Music Festival, formerly known as DEMF), and a vocal supporter of

<div>the Detroit City Football Club. Whether making music, cheering in the stands, or playing games with family and friends, Patrick lived fully, generously, and with a great heart. He will be remembered for his kindness, his wit, his creative spirit, and above all, his unwavering love for

<div>A celebration of Patrick’s life will be held this weekend. Visitation is Friday, August 22, 5pm-8pm; and Saturday, August 23 at 10-11am with service to follow, all at Gesu Catholic Church, 17180 Oak Dr. in Detroit.
