The clinics are provided and conducted by Doctors, Nurses, allied health care workers, Pharmacists and lab technicians. The community clinics serve as a platform for the screening of diseases, examination and diagnosis of diseases and provision of treatment. For chronic ailments, referrals are normally provided to the patients to visit nearby health facilities or hospitals. Medications for simple ailments are also provided at very low cost to free of charge at these clinics.
Each community outreach and screening event provides healthcare for a minimum of 500 people. Through the utilization of the community clinics, affordable and sustainable ways of screening for diseases and encouraging lifestyle changes are provided to residents within the AKA area.
