Support for Ron Rodriguez' Wife

Ronald "Ron" Rodriguez, known by many as "Uncle Ronnie" or "Tin Can Man" was a friend to all. If you knew him, you most likely had his jokes memorized and we all loved him for his humor. He loved his family more than anything and lived to make people laugh. He was always trying to help those in need.  On Saturday January 27th Ron was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center via ambulance. He was having severe chest pain. He was later airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno where he underwent Emergency open-heart surgery. After a two day critical care battle with many set-backs, he did not awake from surgery. Sadly our father Ron passed away in the early morning of January 30th. He was surrounded by our mother Joyce, my sister Terry and myself. His sudden and unexpected death was a shock to all of us. Our family is very devastated. We are doing our best to help our mother through this difficult time. After a 53 year marriage to Ron this will be a major life change for Joyce.  As many of you know my dad made Tin Can Men art to help make ends meet. You may not know he made over 800. As we all adjust to Ron’s loss our mother is faced with mounting medical bills, from three different hospitals visits, including the last in Fresno which included extensive surgery and a helicopter transport. In addition, she has the mortuary costs. Joyce is also in need of a reliable car, as she no longer has my father to tinker on the one she has currently. All this is happening while she has now lost half of the sole social security income she depends on.  Ron was a loving husband to our mother Joyce. He was a proud father to me and my sisters Terry and Sharon. An amazing Father -in-Law to Andy, Michael and Matt. He was a joyful grandfather to Marcus and his wife Whitney, Anthony and his fiancée Monique, Jessica, Carson, Melissa and Matthew. And a proud Great Grandfather to Brody.  It is our hope that Ron and Joyce have touched your life in some way either through the Elks Rodeo, Moose Lodge, Santa Ynez Valley Bow Club, the communities that they lived in or that you can somehow relate to the need at hand.
