We Need Your Help!

While visiting Washington, D.C., something unexpected happened—my fiancée, Emily, tragically fell and broke her hip. She was immediately admitted to Inova Alexandria Hospital, where she underwent hip surgery. Now, she’s receiving care at George Washington Health & Rehab in Alexandria, where she’ll be for about six weeks.

We are far from home, and as a Disabled Veteran with a Service-Connected Disability, I’m struggling to stay near Emily during this difficult time. Unfortunately, I am unable to stay at the rehab facility with her, like I could at the hospital. Hotel costs in the area are beyond my reach, and we don’t know anyone locally who could help.

We’re in need of financial support to cover the costs of my stay, food, and essentials while I continue to care for Emily as she recovers. This woman right here is the love of my life. Emily is the first woman to ever treat me right. She's the first woman ever who hasn't tried to change me, she loves me for me and doesn't want to change me because she loves who I am. She is the first person who has actually truly cared about my feelings and about my health and my mental health and to care if I am okay or not.
