Our beloved house mother Ruth Turner is being forced to move out of her position at Sigma Nu, Rho Chapter at the end of this semester.
Ruth has been the Sigma Nu house mother for 11 years now, and at the age of 79 she is being forced to leave on very short notice. Even with major backlash and dismay from many alumni and the active chapter, she will still be moving out at the end of this school year.
Ruth is the kindest and most sincere person you will ever meet, and that’s why everyone that’s had the honor to live in the house with her calls her “mom”. She loves all the boys that have ever lived in the house and she chooses to always find the good in people. She still remembers the names of all the guys who lived there when she first started, and it’s often that she tells us about people still reaching out to her that graduated years ago.
Mom has always looked out for us and has sacrificed so much of her time and love to make sure our house feels like a home, and it will not be the same once she is gone. The very least we can do for her is make sure that she is taken care of and doesn’t have to be scared of what’s going to happen next. We want to show her that we love and appreciate her as much as she loves and appreciates everyone that has lived in the house for the last 11 years.
