Naomi has always been the person others turn to in times of need. As my aunt, she has supported me and so many others with kindness and generosity. Now, she is facing one of the toughest challenges of her life: a diagnosis of endometrial stromal sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Naomi owned her own cleaning business in Florida, but her illness has made it impossible for her to work. She is waiting for disability benefits to begin, but the process has taken months, leaving her without a steady income. This has made it extremely difficult to keep up with daily living expenses like groceries, utility bills, and medical copays. On top of that, Naomi needs to move back to New York to be closer to family who can help care for her during this time. The costs of moving and starting over are adding to her financial stress.
